Cowan, a Partner in Rubin and Rudman’s Trust and Estate Department, will moderate the upcoming Boston Bar Association webinar entitled, “The Messy Intersection of Divorce and Trust Law – Everything but Pfannenstiehl” on Tuesday, February 15, 2022. Cowan will be moderating the panelists and fellow attorneys, Tiffany Bentley and Alisa L. Hacker, as they discuss various estate and trust related issues that might arise during divorce proceedings, including conflicts between the terms of marital/divorce agreements and estate planning documents as well as the rights of non-parties in divorce proceedings when trust interests are implicated.
Cowan’s practice concentrates on estate and probate administration, probate litigation, guardianships, conservatorships, estate planning, trust administration, real estate, and tax matters. Cowan is practiced in employing creative tactics to help guide clients through every step of the process – from delicate negotiations, to trial, to mediation of will contests. She is aggressive when necessary while balancing the preservation of family relations and mitigation of family disharmony where possible. Cowan is active in the community, serving on various committees and participating in pro bono legal services.
