Steven M. Carr Elected President, Marlee S. Cowan Elected to Board of Boston Estate Planning Council

Boston, MA (June 24, 2021) Steven M. Carr, a partner in the Trusts and Estates and Corporate departments at Boston-based law firm, Rubin and Rudman LLP, was recently elected to be the Boston Estate Planning Council’s (BEPC) new President, effective July 1, 2021. Previously, Steve has held many other leadership roles in the 700 member organization of Greater Boston estate planning professionals.
For approximately 25 years, Steve’s practice has focused on the areas of estate planning, the administration of estates and trusts, and business law, working primarily with families, high net worth individuals, and privately held businesses.
Marlee S. Cowan, a partner in the firm’s Trusts and Estates department, was also recently elected to BEPC’s Board of Directors, effective July 1. Marlee’s practice concentrates on estate and probate administration, probate litigation, guardianships, conservatorships, estate planning, trust administration, real estate, and tax matters.
BEPC is a multi-disciplinary community of over 700 estate and wealth planning professionals in the Greater Boston area. Founded in 1930, BEPC is one of the oldest and largest estate planning councils in the country. The organization includes attorneys, accountants, bank and trust officers, wealth managers and advisors, financial planners, insurance agents, appraisers, planned giving specialists, and other allied professionals. BEPC is an active affiliate of the National Association of Estate Planners & Councils (NAEPC).
